We have a new project that we like to support. Tswelopele is a creche in Indermark, near Blouberg. Tswelopele means “way forward’, which is the vision of the founder Fredericka Ralephata. She is a very creative and innovative woman and with very limited resources there is so much to play and learn for the 168 children who stay at the creche every day.
14 staff members take care of the children and they also get meals when they stay at the creche. There is no money for toys and educational materials, so they make everything themselves such as small tables and chairs and educational toys from paper-mache. Donations in kind are always welcome. You can also contribute to the training of the staff. They like to do early child hood development training to get official certificates, the costs for this training course are R 500 per staff member. Guest can also visit the creche; this is a nice activity for parents with small children.
